Here I Am...

I am so sorry for the lack of updates. Life has gotten crazy after vacation! FI and I will be moving soon! Hoping to update within the next week or two. :)

It's So Close...

3 more days....3 more days....

...until VACATION!! :)

SO's dad is taking us to a French restaurant in the city on Sunday night. It is so we'll know how a French menu looks while in Paris, or so SO says. :)Wish us luck!

2 more days of work until then.....ugh. Is it Sunday yet?

Crap, I still need to finish packing...better get on that!

10 Days and Counting...

Sorry for the delay in posting, I have been busy with work this week!

10 days to go till SO and I head to Europe...and I unearthed a suitcase in from the garage today. I figured I'd get packing done today since I'm working again all next week before we leave.

I have some new dresses to bring, but other than the clothing "essentials", I admit I am stumped about what else I can pack. From perusing WeddingBee (if I remember correctly), jeans aren't fashionable in Europe. :(  Any other bees out there have an idea of what clothing I can wear?

Now for some details about the trip!

SO and I will be flying from O'Hare International Airport, to London Heathrow Airport. Below is the hotel we'll be staying at while in London.

From off the top of my head, some of the places and attractions we'll be visiting are Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park.  We will also be visiting a few museums, I believe. I imagine London will be very lively with  Duchess Catherine's baby on the way! Have to admit that I'm more excited for her baby, than I ever was for Kim Kardashian's. :p

After five days in London, we'll be traveling to Paris via train. We'll be staying here:

SO and I know for sure that we want to visit the Eiffel Tower, but other than that we are unsure of what else we would like to see.

That, and... all signs point to my name coming off that waiting list! I know he has *the* ring! ;)

We'll be in Paris from July 28th to the morning of July 30th, after which we will be flying home. Does anyone have recommendations for things to see or restaurants to dine at while here? :) Thank you for any advice!

On that note, time to get packing!

I seriously cannot wait for this trip. :)

Happy 4th of July everyone! 

Just got home from work...and wow, was it a madhouse. You would have thought it was Black Friday or Christmas Eve with how busy it was! 

Going to see the fireworks tonight with my boyfriend and little sister. Should be fun. :) 

3 Weeks From Today!

Now that I've had my morning caffeine, ( being up at 6am on your day off... :( ), I'd thought I'd start off my blog by sharing something exciting. On Monday, July 22nd, my boyfriend and I will be heading for a fun filled vacation in Europe! All thanks to boyfriend's family...  A very generous gift! :)

It's the first time out of the country for both of us. We will be visiting London for five days, and Paris for two days. Can't wait!

It will be the second time in my life that I will have been on an airplane, except this time, it's a long flight. Almost eight hours.  First time was for a family vacation to Florida in '05, with only a two hour flight. So yeah, it has been a while..

Can't believe it's already July. Seems like just yesterday that the plan tickets were booked. :) It is going to be a great month. Vacation in Europe and my birthday on the 29th...

Did I mention that I will be spending my birthday in Paris this year? Yeah, lucky me!
